The Limbo issue

Let us all hope that the Church does not tamper with the long-established idea of Limbo. Limbo is or was the ethereal region where the soul of all the unbaptised went. It did not necessarily apply only to babies, whether born or unborn.

If ever the existence of Limbo is denied then we shall have to abandon also that most essential sacrament of Baptism. Christ himself showed us the importance of baptism when he was baptised into his own religion by St John.

As far as I was taught to believe, Baptism opens the door for our eternal salvation.
