• The church of the Franciscan Friars Minor in Ghajnsielem today marks the feast of St Francis, with Mass by Fr Albert Micallef at 8.30 a.m. The St Anthony Choir will participate. Animals and pets will be blessed in the car park at 10 a.m. Sung vespers led by Fr Raymond Camilleri will be held at 5.15 p.m.
At 5.30, Provincial Fr Paul Galea will lead a concelebrated Mass, with the participation of the St Anthony Choir.
• To mark the anniversary of the consecration of St Anthony church in Ghajnsielem, Fr Paul Galea, OFM, will lead solemn vespers next Saturday at 5.30 p.m. At 6, the St Joseph Band of Ghajnsielem will play marches from Loreto Square to the church. There will be Mass led by the Vicar-General, Mgr Giovanni B. Gauci, animated by the St Anthony Choir.
The procession with the statue of St Anthony, led by the collegiate chapter of St Peter and St Paul's Basilica in Nadur, accompanied by the St Joseph Band, starts at 7 p.m. The feast will end with Eucharistic blessing.
These activities will be broadcast on Radju Lehen il-Qala 106.3 FM and at www.radjulehenil-qala.com Today's and Saturday's Masses will be aired live on Radju Marija 102.3 FM.
• A Eucharistic week, Ir-Ruh tal-Komunità Parrokjali, is being held at Qala parish between today and Sunday. The week opens this morning at 10 with a Mass celebrated by Fr Joe Bugeja, national director of the Pontifical Missions Office of the Archdiocese of Malta, with the participation of members who conduct missionary work within the Church. At 3 p.m., there will adoration of the Blessed Sacrament by the Holy Name Society.
• The Gozitan Missionary Support Group is holding a tea tombola in aid of Gozitan missionaries, in Third World countries at the Crystal Palace, Marsalforn, today at 3.30 p.m. Tickets are available from Georgette Bezzina, tel: 2155-5709 or Manani Farrugia, tel: 2155-3816.
• The feast of Christ the King will be celebrated at the church of Jesus of Nazareth in Xaghra, with Mass led by Bishop Mario Grech at 5 p.m. The Maranatha choir will participate. The Bishop later leads a procession with the Eucharist, accompanied by the Victory Band. An evening of song and dance, including wine tasting, will also take place in front of the church. The Broad Casters Group will animate the evening. There will be a wine and pizza party with spot prizes to be won.
• The Pink Panther is showing at the Don Bosco Oratory, Victoria, today at 5.30 p.m.
• The Victoria Scout Group, in conjunction with the Gozo Amateur Radio Society, will be participating in the Jamboree on Air. An Amateur Radio Station at the scouts headquarters in Victoria, with call-sign 9H4GRS/P, will help the local scouts make contact with their counterparts abroad today. This will result in the exchange of addresses, cards, badges, etc.
• The Gozo Cathedral parish is holding a coffee morning at the Crystal Palace, Marsalforn, on Tuesday at 8.45 a.m. Tickets at Lm1.25 are available from Grace Debono, Menzia Farrugia or the Coney Island Bar.

• To mark the 208th anniversary of the expulsion of French troops from Gozo by Gozitan insurgents led by Archpriest Saver Cassar, the Cultural Organisation Committee is organising a commemorative ceremony at Independence Square, Victoria, on Friday at 10.30 a.m. An exhibition will be open at the Banca Giuratale, Victoria.
