Concord's Development Education Forum will be held in Malta on Friday between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. at the Galaxy Hotel, Sliema. Concord is the European confederation of relief and development NGDOs (Non-governmental Development Organisations).

Educators, social workers, youth workers, NGOs and the general public are invited to participate.

The theme selected for the forum is "Migration and Development Education". Registration is at the door (half an hour before start).

Development education is an active learning process, founded on values of solidarity, equality, inclusion and co-operation. It enables people to move from basic awareness of international development priorities and sustainable human development, through understanding of the causes and effects of global issues, to personal involvement and informed action.

Development education fosters the full participation of all citizens in worldwide poverty eradication, and the fight against exclusion. It seeks to influence more just and sustainable economic, social, environmental, human rights-based national and international policies (www.deeep.org - Development of Education Exchange in Europe Project; www.ngdomalta.org , www.concordeurope.org).
