Lotto dispute talks continue

Talks between the Union Haddiema Maghqudin and Maltco continue in a bid to try and find a solution over a dispute between the two sides, the union's general secretary, Gejtu Vella, said yesterday.

Lotto receivers last week closed their booths for an hour to protest against a measure they believe could lead to the demise of lotto in Malta. They claimed the company wants to reduce the winning odds of lotto, adding that this could endanger their livelihoods.

Mr Vella said the executive committee of the Lotto Receivers' Union, a branch of the UHM, was expected to meet on Monday to decide on the way forward.
