Heritage Malta will restart its Heritage trails with an event focusing on artist Giuseppe Calì on November 11 between 9 a.m. and 1 p.m.

Participants will get to explore Calì's career by visiting his works around the island, including those in Sacro Cuor parish church, the Salesian Theatre in Sliema and St Francis Church and the National Museum of Fine Arts in Valletta.

Paintings to be viewed include St Peter and St Paul, St Lawrence and St Jerome at Sacro Cuor and the Apotheosis of St Francis of Assisi and Death of St Francis in St Francis Church.

Calì was a dominant figure in the Maltese art scene during the latter half of the 19th and early 20th centuries, his influence felt mostly in the development of religious painting.
