No Maltese were involved in the Rome metro collision yesterday morning but a helpline for any related information and assistance has been set up by the Foreign Affairs Ministry.

The telephone number 2596 8281 is directly linked to the ministry's consular services department and a 24-hour mobile number 7938 3879 has also been opened for the same reason.

The Maltese Embassy in Rome was in constant communication with the Italian emergency services for further information, the ministry said.
