The number of registered unemployed in June increased by 131 when compared to the same month last year. Labour market data of the Employment and Training Corporation supplied by the National Statistics Office show that the labour supply increased by 752 persons and the gainfully occupied population rose by 621 persons.

Full-time employment in the private sector increased by 3.2 per cent between June 2005 and the same month this year while there was a net drop in full-time employment within the public sector of 5.1 per cent.

Total part-time employment rose by 2,982 persons between June 2005 and June 2006.
