Obituary
AMAIRA. On October 12, at Zammit Clapp Hospital, JOSEPH, aged 85, of Floriana, passed peacefully away comforted by the rites of Holy Church. He leaves to mourn his three children, Tony and his wife Lourdes, Carmen and her husband Joseph, Joseph and his wife Ruth, nephews Terence, Neil, Andrew and fiancée Daniela and niece Salomé.
The funeral leaves Zammit Clapp Hospital today at 8.30 a.m. for St Publius parish church, Floriana, where Mass praesente cadavere will be said at 9 a.m. followed by interment at Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery. No flowers by request, but donations to the Malta Hospice Movement will be appreciated. Lord grant him eternal rest.
TREVISAN. On October 11, JOSEPHINE, aged 91, of Sta Venera, passed peacefully away comforted by the rites of Holy Church. She leaves to mourn her great loss her children Tony, and his family who lives in Australia, Carmen and her husband George Hili, Katerina and her family, Connie and her husband Nino Debono, Monica and her husband Alfred Attard, Alfred and his family who lives in Australia, Marianne and her husband Joe Theuma, together with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and friends.

Parking In Buskett, Attard, Manikata
Due to filming in Buskett, Attard and Manikata, parking will not be allowed in the following streets: Il-Buskett Street and beneath the shed in Buskett on Wednesday and Thursday between 6 a.m. and 7.30 p.m. and Sant'Anton Street from corner with Il-Linja Street up to Edwic House in Attard on October 23 and 24 from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m.
There will be intermittent traffic control in Sant'Anton Street from the junction with Il-Linja Street up to the junction with Lord Strickland Street.
On October 25 and 26 between 8 a.m. and 6 p.m., October 26, from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. and October 30 from 6 p.m. till 4 a.m. the following morning, parking will not be allowed in Il-Mellieha Street and in front of the church. There will be intermittent traffic control in Il-Mellieha Street.
US Poet Reading
American poet C.K. Williams will be reading from his works at the KSU Student Room at the University of Malta on Tuesday at 8 p.m.
Mr Williams has penned several books including The Singing for which he won a National Book Award in 2003, and Repair for which he received the 2000 Pulitzer Prize in Poetry.
He is professor in the Creative Writing Programme at Princeton University.
Admission is free.
Bus Lottery Winners
The Malta Transport Authority has announced the winners of the Board A Bus And Win lottery for September.
Mary Claire Portelli of Qormi won Lm300 as first prize, Cynthia Cruz of Sliema won Lm150 and the third prize of Lm50 went to Censina Fenech of Dingli.
Maths Talk
A talk to fifth formers by Ian Stewart, professor of mathematics at Warwick University, will take place at Sir Temi Zammit Hall, University Campus on Thursday at 10 a.m.
The lecture by Prof. Stewart, well-known as an author of science fiction, TV presentations and contributions to the magazines Scientific American and New Scientist, is entitled Why Do We Do Maths? Is There Any Point, Now That We Have Calculators And Computers? Schools are asked to nominate a small group of students to attend this talk.
Entrance is free, however, only a limited number of students from each school can attend.

Adlerian Meeting
The Malta Adlerian Psychology Association will hold its next meeting at the Curia, Floriana on Monday at 6.30 p.m.

Literary Night
New literary works by writers from Malta, Wales, Finland and Latvia will be presented at the Manoel Theatre Courtyard in Valletta today at 8 p.m. as part of an 18-month artistic project entitled Turgien, about Valletta.
Harpist Esmeralda Galea Camilleri will be entertaining those present with music inspired by the city of Valletta. Photos and other visual material will accompany poems and short stories. Works by foreign writers will be read in English while Maltese literary works will be read in Maltese with a brief introduction in English.
The writers and artists presenting their works will be Clare Azzopardi, John Betts, Norbert Bugeja, Antoine Cassar, Priscilla Cassar, Claudia Fiorini, Maria Grech Ganado, Adrian Grima, Roderick Mallia, Robert Minhinnick, Laima Muktupavela, Walid Nabhan, Mikko Rimminen, Guze` Stagno and Leslie Vassallo.
Entrance is free.

Between today at 5 p.m. and tomorrow at 6 a.m., Notte Bianca - Lejl Imdawwal, a night-long celebration of the arts in Valletta. Event includes over 50 activities of art, music, theatre, dance, literature, film, folklore, history, photography, sculpture and fashion in all the main locations of the city.
