Two Malta Lace Days are being held by the Malta Lace Guild in conjunction with the Malta Crafts Council at Valletta Waterfront this weekend.
The event will consist of a number of exhibitions showing Maltese lace, the sale of objects related to lace-making such as bobbins, silk thread and card weave and demonstrations of various lace-making techniques.
Other types of craft such as tulle lace and other lace objects from private collections will also be on display. A number of talks about the subject will also be held during the two days.
Lace-makers have been invited to bring their pillows and join in, as well as sell their own work.
The festival will be open tomorrow between 10 a.m. and 7 p.m. and on Sunday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. The entrance fee for members of the Malta Lace Guild is 50c per day on presentation of a current membership card, 75c for non-members while children under the age of 15 go in for free. A small souvenir will be given to all those attending.
