Gozo Bishop Mario Grech has appointed Canon Frankie Bajada archpriest of Ghajnsielem and Fr Tonio Galea parish priest of Munxar.

Born in Xaghra, Canon Bajada was ordained priest by Bishop Emeritus Nikol Cauchi in June 1991.

A former vice-parish priest at the Nativity parish in Rome, Canon Bajada returned to Gozo where he used to teach at the Gozo Seminary.

In 1994 he was appointed lecturer in philosophy at the Seminary and diocesan director of vocations.

Between 1994-96 Canon Bajada worked in the Xaghra parish and from May 1996 has been parish priest of Munxar.

Born in Victoria, Fr Galea was ordained priest by Cardinal Edward Egan in July 2003.

He served as parish vicar at the church dedicated to St Ingnatius of Antiochia, in Rome, where he furthered his studies at the Lateran University and specialised in pastoral theology.
