Britain's 400 metres Commonwealth champion Christine Ohuruogu has appealed to the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) against the one-year ban imposed by UK Athletics for missing three out-of-competition doping tests. The 22-year-old, provisionally suspended on the eve of the European Championships in Gothenburg in August, was banned last month by an independent disciplinary committee who concluded Ohuruogu had committed a doping violation. Englishwoman Ohuruogu has threatened to quit the sport as the ban means that under British Olympic Association rules she is not eligible to compete for the country in future Games.
