A disgruntled customer, who was not satisfied with a sofa he bought, walked into the shop and broke items worth the value of the sofa, a court heard yesterday.

Police Inspector Kevin Farrugia old Magistrate Jacqueline Padovani Grima how last year Norman Cilia La Corte had bought a sofa from Studio 9, in Naxxar, but there was a problem with the couch.

So Mr Cilia La Corte stormed into the shop and started breaking several objects. He aimed at causing the sofa's worth of damage.

Mr Cilia La Corte, 36, is pleading not guilty to causing Lm352 worth of damage at Studio 9 to the detriment of V. Petroni Imports Ltd and to assaulting Philip Petroni on May 23, 2005.
