Over 180 members of staff of the Foundation for Social Welfare Services, a number of individuals from the day centres for people with a disability and professionals from NGOs were awarded a certificate for successfully finishing training in the labour market integration of socially-excluded persons, as part of the European Social Fund Project ESF20.
The project is part of the Structural Funds programme for Malta for 2004-2006.
The services offered by the foundation's Agenzija Appogg, Agenzija Sedqa and Agenzija Sapport focus on children and their families, adults in need, those in vulnerable situations and those at risk of social exclusion.
The aim of the EU project is to achieve a measured increase in employability of persons at risk of social exclusion, as well as to assist them in the achievement of gainful occupation mainly through the scaling up of qualifications and assistance to retain employment.
