'Justice done' on councils association

The Labour Party's councillors section has expressed its satisfaction that the executive of the Local Councils Association will have a majority of Labour councillors following last Saturday's election.

It claimed that the Nationalist Party only managed to have more members elected to represent the regions because the regions were "gerrymandered".

In another statement, MLP spokesman Chris Cardona said the MLP only managed to obtain this result following pressure it had placed on the government to amend the regulations on the composition of the association. Justice had finally been done.

The new Labour majority, Dr Cardona promised, would make a difference in the association.
