Natalie Sciortino and Jennifer Busuttil, two students from the YADA Dance Academy, Gozo, recently spent a week in Rome after winning a dance scholarhip adjudicated by Kledi Kadiu, the Albanian celebrity dancer from the popular Mediaset TV programme, Amici.
The scholarship came on the initiative of the YADA Dance Company during last year's 10-day course 'Amici at the Med' here in Malta. Five teachers from the Italian programme came over: Ilir Shakiri, Olti Shakiri, Anbeta Toromani, Leon Cini and Kledi Kadiu.
Jennifer and Natalie have been students of the YADA Dance Academy, Gozo, for the past five years and are Grade 5 second-year jazz students. They also attend ballet classes at the academy and are currently preparing for their major ballet exam at Intermediate level.
The dance course was held at Kledi Kadiu's Dance Academy in Rome between September 24 and October 1.
