Rotary Club La Valette Malta and Playmobil are involved in a literacy project based on some of the best research in language and reading development for young children.

Allan McLeod, former Superintendent of Schools for the Vancouver School District in Canada and a Rotary La Valette member, is coordinating the project for the Rotary Club with the support of Salvina Muscat, Cottonera College Coordinator.

The Vittoriosa Primary School has been chosen to conduct the pilot project. The Rotary Club and Playmobil said they have been impressed by the professionalism and enthusiasm shown by Catherine Abela, head of school, primary teacher Norma Ferrante Callus and kindergarten assistants Lucia Gilson and Kathleen Spiteri who will be involved in the project.

The project will be launched at a formal presentation at Vittoriosa primary school on Tuesday.

For further information contact Allan McLeod on 2132 0003 or Anna Agius on 2224 2447.
