Mario C. Cilia has every right to air his anger in the press because, at certain events, the only access linking the Zonqor areas to the rest of the village is blocked (Cut Off, September 25).
It is up the central government to plan and construct an alternative road to and from Zonqor areas so that the problem can be solved.
It seems that the government is living in the past and still considers Marsascala as a tiny village, with a couple of hundred people.
It is good and healthy that citizens like Mr Cilia lament the terrible situation in the forlorn hope that the government will awaken from its slumber and tackle this problem. It is to be pointed out that lately the association of bars and restaurants and the local council met and discussed such matters.
However, Mr Cilia surely understands that our community cannot restrict its outdoor activities which are no more than a handful during the whole year.
When civic minded people like Mr Cilia go over the top to emphasise a genuine grievance and exaggerate in their criticism they do themselves and their cause a disservice.
