A total of 1,847 firearms were imported between January and September 12 this year.
A list given in Parliament yesterday by Home Affairs Minister Tonio Borg shows that the weapons included three machine-guns, one sub machine-gun, 446 shotguns, 403 rifles, 379 pistols, 366 air rifles, 95 air pistols and 89 revolvers.
There were also antique weapons including 10 matchlock muskets, five flintlock muskets and six flintlock pistols.
The minister was replying to a question by Chris Cardona (MLP).
