Eleven men and two women were yesterday fined a total of Lm32,256 for failing to pay VAT after having been ordered to do so by a court.

There were: Patrick Grech, of Qormi, who was fined Lm1,170; George Farrugia, of Hamrun, fined Lm954; Carmel Sultana, of Birkirkara, Lm372; David Grech, of Siggiewi, Lm8,112; Carmel Farrugia, of Zebbug, Lm4,446; Emanuel Abela, of Paola, fined Lm2,706; Louis Aquilina, of Swieqi, and Tarcisio Bonnici, of Cospicua, were each fined Lm1,350; Alan Ciantar, of Paola, and Francis George Camilleri, of Qormi, each fined Lm2,538; Enrico Vassallo, of Sliema, and Alberta Pace, of Hamrun, fined Lm2,100 each; and Roseanne Scicluna, of Lija, Lm2,520.
