Desmond Zammit Marmara in his article Who Will Win The Next Election? argues that the PN might win the next general election because "with the whole state apparatus at its disposal, the PN has the added advantage of superior media resources and greater financial backing".

Please let me remind Mr Zammit Marmara that the PN managed to win two consecutive general elections in 1981 and 1987 when the party was in opposition and when its voice was oppressed. The PN won those elections when the state media was used to produce a "Socialist generation". At that time the PN not only could not own its radio and television channels, but the name of the leader of the opposition and leader of the party could not be named on the then Xandir Malta. At the time the state media was used to air the famous "run rabbit run". Where was Mr Zammit Marmara during that dull period of our modern history?

Yet the PN managed to win, because the Maltese were fed up with Labour and because the MLP couldn't be trusted to govern the country. And hopefully the same will happen in the next general election.
