MyTravel, one of the UK's leading tour operators, plans to expand its Malta programme in response to growing demand from British tourists.
The operator said it believes holidaymakers from the UK are increasingly aware of Malta's attractions as a holiday destination and that an increasing number of visitors are likely to travel to the country next year.
The operator has also confirmed it will be operating a full programme for winter 2007/2008.
The announcement followed a new agreement between MyTravel and Air Malta to increase seat availability between the UK and Malta. The announcement was welcomed by the Malta Tourism Authority, whose chairman, Sam Mifsud, said this is a step in the right direction that promised a brighter future for tourism. This also showed renewed, growing confidence in destination Malta, he added.
MyTravel comprises Airtours Holidays, which have been operating to Malta for the last 29 years, Direct Holidays, Panorama Holidays and BCT Holidays. All feature Malta in their winter and summer brochures.
Airtours also sells Cruise & Stay holidays starting in Malta.
My Travel is represented by Edrichton Holidays.
