The fourth Delicata Classic Wine Festival, in collaboration with Nadur council, was held recently at the Council Gardens in Nadur.
Hundreds of Gozitans, Maltese and tourists flocked to the gardens for three consecutive days creating a wonderful festa atmosphere.
Ira Losco, Claudette Pace, Trilogy, the Spectrum and The Tramps groups, Body Art Dance Group, Annette's Mystic Dancers, the Mill Room Studio and Steve Cole were among the entertainers.
A number of food stands offered several delicacies, the most popular being suckling pig and the traditional fenkata. A seated dining area, 'The Channel View', gave diners the opportunity to enjoy fantastic uninterrupted views of Nadur valley leading down to Mgarr.
Kastilja, the commemorative wine of the Delicata Classic Wine Festival, was also available for sale during the festival.
An innovative idea for this edition was the stage, which was erected over the valley with the channel as background with more space for patrons.
In conjunction with the ferry trips, a shuttle service from Mgarr harbour to Nadur was operated at a minimal fee throughout the festival, which proved to be very successful.
This edition of the Delicata Classic Wine Festival was an overall success with a record attendance, establishing it as a main attraction in the Gozo calendar of summer activities.
