WasteServ, in collaboration with its contractor medEcology, is conducting waste management training sessions for local council staff members.

The sessions are co-funded by the EU European Regional Development Fund.

WasteServ is investing Lm45,000 in waste management training and educational seminars for schools, local councils, green leaders of government departments and SMEs.

Research carried out earlier this year revealed that more waste management information is required by local councils.

WasteServ is, therefore, inviting local council staff members for a training course on waste management issues particularly the use of bring-in sites and the civic amenity sites for separated bulky waste. The seminars include visits to the Maghtab Environment Complex and to the Sant'Antnin Waste Treatment Plant, in Marsascala.

The public is invited to attend the first Open Day being organised at the Maghtab Environment Complex on Saturday.

Those interested in attending are to contact WasteServ on 2385 8000/8007 2200.
