Winter Moods release new single

Winter Moods, one of Malta's top bands, is back with a new song Lonely Vegas, which will be realsed today.

During the past year the band was locked away in the recording studio with producer David Vella, working on a new album, which will be released next month under the title Ordinary Men.

"I see this album as a reflection of us; what we go through everyday, and what we've experienced together as a band during the past 20 years," said Ivan Grech, frontman of Winter Moods.

This year Winter Moods celebrates 20 years of music. The band was formed by Joseph Rizzo (bassist) and Steve Caruana Smith (lead guitarist) in 1986. Mr Grech joined the band on vocals shortly after. All three members are still part of the current line-up.

"Few bands stay together this long. We've had our ups and downs, and we still do on a daily basis," Mr Grech said. "We are nearly finished putting together Ordinary Men. It is made up of the Winter Moods you know, as well as some new sounds."

Winter Moods was recently awarded an Achievement Award by Exotique for being the overall top selling local artists in recent years.

The band was also awarded the Best Band of All Time and Best Song of All Time for Everyday Song during the Gozo Music Awards held last month.

Winter Moods' last work, Closer, released last year, also won the song of the year award during the Bay Music Awards 2005.
