Funds are being raised by InterContinental Malta together with HSBC Bank Malta and Heritage Malta for the preservation of the megalithic temple of Hagar Qim.

Guests staying at InterContinental Malta have for the past two months been asked for a voluntary contribution of €1 per room per night to be added to their hotel bill to go towards the funding of the conservation project. Since the scheme was launched, Lm2,500 have been collected.

Hagar Qim and the other Neolithic temples of Malta are grouped together by Unesco as a world heritage site.
