Four men were yesterday jailed, for terms ranging between six and 14 months, during a drug case sitting presided over by Magistrate Lawrence Quintano.
Gilbert Farrugia, 25, of Marsa was jailed for 10 months and fined Lm600 for the possession of just over three grammes of heroin, divided into 31 sachets, on June 13 2001.
Martin Galea, 27, of Zebbug was jailed for six months and fined Lm200 for complicity in cultivating cannabis on and before April 1999.
Musab Miftah Al-Kalbash, 29, of Qawra was jailed for six months and fined Lm200 after he admitted to the possession of cannabis with the intent to sell on and before April 1999.
Reginald Bugeja, 33, of Rabat was jailed for 14 months and fined Lm300 for the possession of heroin during the operative time of suspended jail term.
He admitted to the possession of the drug during the operative time of a 14-month jail term suspended for three years. Consequently, the jail term was put into effect.
