Ghar id-Dud embellishment

I refer to the letter Sliema Works by Adrian Balzan (September 19).

The Ministry appreciates the interest shown by various Sliema residents in the works being carried out on the embellishment of the Ghar id-Dud promenade.

As stated in previous letters, works at Ghar id-Dud started in July and this can be confirmed by the Ministry's records and not by the whims of passers-by.

Prior to July, the workers involved in the embellishment project were stationed at Hastings Garden, Valletta which was inaugurated on July 7.

The Ministry would like to clarify that prior to the commencement of the embellishment works, the demolition of the Chalet remains was carried out within a fixed time frame of six weeks.

The Ministry would like to invite any interested persons to visit the works that are being carried out so that they will witness the difficult circumstances in which Works Division personnel are diligently performing their duties.

Constructive criticism is more than welcome but before scribbling something, one should verify and crosscheck the facts, because the proof of the pudding is in the eating.
