Lille believe they can beat Milan in their Champions League Group H clash today despite being thrashed 4-1 by Olympique Lyon in Ligue 1 at the weekend.
The northerners, who play their home Champions League games in RC Lens's Felix-Bollaert stadium, are confident despite conceding seven goals in their last two league matches.
"We beat Manchester United last year.
"Nothing is impossible and it is good to play in the Champions League right after bad domestic results," said defender Mathieu Chalme.
Claude Puel's team were never in contention on Saturday against five-times champions Lyon, one week after slumping to a 3-1 home defeat by Toulouse.
"This month has been catastrophic. We have to do some soul searching," Chalme said.
Lille, who drew 1-1 at Anderlecht in their group opener, will need to move up a gear if they are to reach the knockout stage.
They might have to do without Senegal goalkeeper Tony Sylva, who is nursing a thigh injury.
