A total of 66 marriage separation proceedings have been introduced in court so far this year, compared to 149 in the whole of last year, 154 in 2004, 165 in 2003 and 192 in 2002.

A total of 352 personal separation cases were registered for mediation in the first six months of this year from 632 in the whole of last year and 673 in 2004.

The information was given by Home Affairs Minister Tonio Borg replying to a parliamentary question by David Agius (PN).
