Damage to pavements

Certain drivers seem to believe they are above the law as they show a complete disregard for other drivers and pedestrians. Pedestrian crossing areas are very convenient to stop and unload or to answer the phone or to go quickly to buy whatever.

Pedestrian crossing areas are very convenient to stop and unload or to answer the phone or to go quickly to buy whatever. Turning on the hazard lights seems to give these drivers a sense of responsibility!

Driving onto "tiled" pavements, definitely not meant for the weight of vehicles, causes sags and unevenness and breaks the covers of various service holes.

Falls, twisted ankles or worse are commonplace as the covers are rarely, if ever, replaced. Pavements wide enough, like the ones past the movie theatres in Paceville, make ideal parking spots.

Pedestrians then have to contend with walking on the road facing or with their backs to the wannabe racing drivers coming from the Bay Street area.

It seems commercial vehicle drivers seem to enjoy the privilege of parking on private property. Don't even dare to make the most reasonable request for them to move as you will get at least a verbal threat with some creative language thrown in.
