Sculptor Ganni Pace will display 60 sculptures in terracotta, Maltese stone and wood at his eighth solo exhibition next month.

Sponsored by the Bank of Valletta and held at the Heritage Malta Head Office in Valletta, the exhibition will run from October 7 to November 26.

The bank's sponsorship was presented by Michael Galea, head of PR, communications and corporate branding during a visit to the artist's workshop in Guardamangia.

"Bank of Valletta has sponsored all eight solo exhibitions by Ganni Pace including the first exhibition held at the National Museum of Fine Arts in 1986," said Mr. Galea.

"Our consistent support underlines BOV's strong commitment towards supporting Maltese artists and promoting Maltese arts and culture."

The sculptures on show are the fruits of two years of work.

The artist said this will be the first time he is exhibiting three works in wood including an intricate log carving that is still being given the finishing touches. Mr Pace started drawing lessons with George Borg at Pieta' Primary School. He continued his studies at Paola Technical Institute under Vincent Apap and furthered his studies at the Government School of Art, in 1960.

Fr Marius Zerafa taught him History of Art, Mr Borg introduced him to modelling while Anton Agius was his tutor in casting.
