Medserv Limited has sponsored the Kilimanjaro Challenge 3 team.

The company operates a dedicated logistical support base from Malta, strategically located in one of Malta's main harbours within Malta Freeport.

Medserv has its own private quay with its lay down area, warehousing and offices located just 600 metres away from the quay. Medserv has for the past 28 years been the most significant offshore base for the central Mediterranean area, and is a member of the International Association of Drilling Contractors.

"Medserv is delighted to assist the Kilimanjaro Challenge 3 team and lauds its efforts in raising funds for such worthy causes," said Anthony Duncan, finance director at Medserv.

"We believe that such causes make such a difference to our society and its people like the ones forming part of the Kilimanjaro Challenge 3 team that contribute to people less fortunate than us."

The Kilimanjaro Challenge 3 team will be leaving for Tanzania late in December to undertake a ten-day trek which will see them 'challenge' Africa's largest free-standing mountain. In preparation for this trek the team is training as a group three times a week. In addition to these training sessions, the group also trains on an individual level.

"The Kilimanjaro Challenge 3 team deeply appreciates Medserv's contribution. Without contributions like these we would not be able to raise the required funds for our cause which this year will assist both international and local charities," said Maria Vella-Galea, the team's marketing and public relations officer, said.

The Kilimanjaro Challenge 3 team aims to raise Lm45,000 which will go towards completing a school and convent in Bulbula, a remote area in the Ethiopian province of Meki. It also aims to help fund special prosthesis for Amy Zahra, the 21-year-old university student who lost her limbs through meningitis.
