I agree with the contents of Dr Mario Tabone-Vassallo's letter (The Sunday Times, September 10) as I had a very similar experience with British Jet, namely with their Marie Louise.
I will not bother the readers with all the details as it would be a repetition. My complaint has been pending since early November 2005. I contacted their Qawra office by e-mail and by phone on several occasions but to no avail. Not even an acknowledgment was ever received until June 30.
Of course, the complaint was not accepted as British Jet passed on the blame to third parties at the airports concerned, plus the fact that my luggage was overweight.
Please note that I was not charged for this imaginary excess luggage at Gatwick Airport. My complaint and that by Dr Tabone-Vassallo were practically dealt with on the same wavelength.
About British Jet's claims to be low-cost, flights were more expensive than Air Malta's. The only reason I flew British Jet was because they had some vacant seats and Air Malta did not. I am almost sure that I will never fly British Jet again.
