The Medical Association of Malta is "cautiously optimistic" that a resolution will be reached on the health centres dispute during a meeting on Monday with the health authorities, association general secretary Martin Balzan said yesterday. When contacted, Dr Balzan said progress had been registered and a solution was in sight.

"The vibes are good and I think we will reach an agreement on Monday," he said.

The association is unhappy with the service to patients provided at health centres and has made proposals to improve it.
