In accordance with the provisions of the Ombudsman Act, 1995, the Office of the Ombudsman recently presented the Ombudsplan for 2007 to the Speaker of the House of Representatives.

This document outlines the main objectives and medium-term work streams of the office and gives an indication of the funding requirements of the institution for 2007.

At a later stage the House Business Committee of Parliament will consider these proposals and submit its recommendations on the budgetary resources of the Office of the Ombudsman for 2007 to the House of Representatives.
