A delegation from the European Parliament's Committee on Regional Development has just completed a two-day visit to Malta.

MEPs Gerardo Galeote and Constanze Krehl led a 13-man delegation which included Maltese MEPs Simon Busuttil and Louis Grech who are both substitute members of the committee. The visit was arranged to enable the members to see for themselves how Malta is making use of Cohesion and European Regional Development Funds.

The delegation visited several projects that draw on these two funds, including the Pembroke Reverse Osmosis Plant, Limestone Heritage in Siggiewi, Hagar Qim Temples and the construction works on the Hal Far road.

The delegation also held meetings with President Eddie Fenech Adami and Social Solidarity Minister Dolores Cristina.
