The Central Bank has issued a silver proof coin commemorating scientist, archaeologist and prolific writer Sir Temi Zammit.
The obverse of the coin shows the emblem of Malta with the year of issue while the reverse depicts the likeness of Sir Temi with the dates of his birth and death. The coin is being issued under the Europa Programme 2006 - Personalities.
The coin, which was designed by Noel Galea Bason, has a face value of Lm5 and is limited to 15,000 pieces. It is available from the Malta Coins Distribution Centre, Central Bank, Castille Place, Valletta for Lm15.88 or via the bank's website at www.centralbankmalta.com under the currency section.
