Over the last weeks, FOI officials have been involved in the consultation process leading to the Budget for 2007.

In a meeting for social partners held on Monday, September 4, Parliamentary Secretary Tonio Fenech went through the main objectives outlined in this year's government pre-Budget document entitled 'Securing our Future'. The FOI is currently studying this document in detail in preparation for its reaction later on this month.

In a press statement issued on the document's publication, the FOI had welcomed the inclusion in the document of the recommendations for a National Industrial Policy. The FOI has been spearheading a consultation process leading to the drafting of the Industrial Policy document which is expected to be published as part of the Budget for 2007.
