It was reported (The Sunday Times, September 10) that in Helsinki our prime minister and parliamentary secretary for finance presented our pre-Budget document which was approved by the EU authorities, as it proves that we are on the right track to control the inflation rate which is a pre-requisite for us to join the Euro- zone.

So how come we are given the chance, within the next four to six weeks, to voice our comments and suggestions on the Budget, once it is almost finalised? If our Prime Minister were to seriously consider our suggestions and amend this year's Budget accordingly, the final document would have no relation to the one presented in Helsinki.

Is this another party stunt to fool the people into thinking that our government really listens to us and acts on our serious and valid recommendations?

Come on, pull the other leg. The leaflets being sent to all households with a promise from the authorities to act on feedback is another example of this administration's disregard for public money.
