Denmark's Thomas Gravesen has retired from international football, the Danish Football Federation said yesterday.

Gravesen, who won 66 caps and scored five times for Denmark, said he wanted to concentrate on his club football at Scottish champions Celtic.

The combative 30-year-old joined the Glasgow side last month from Real Madrid in a £2 million ($3.75 million) deal.

"I don't have the same drive I used to," the federation quoted Gravesen as saying. "I think I should concentrate all my strength with Celtic."
