Trees at Castille must go (2)

The three photographs illustrating the article about the trees at Auberge de Castille in Valletta (September 2) show that the trees in the square do not cause an obstruction to this view, but the building itself is half concealed by the large trees planted immediately in front of it.

Although, in principle, it is desirable to allow as many trees as possible to flourish, this is one situation where they should never have been planted in the first place.

Were they to be removed and the authority responsible for the beautiful planting of shrubs and flowers on roundabouts to be consulted on the subject of suitable replacements, the splendid Auberge de Castille could be seen and appreciated as it should be.
