Reporting all the facts
Reference is made to an interview carried in The Times entitled The Union Man (September 12).
In this interview Ray Arpa went on record stating that "Super One did not report the fact that Mr Zammit and the entire executive had resigned from the union last week". He also went on to say: "But why not report that fact? I pledge my support to the MLP in whatever they will need, but who is to blame me if I ask myself whether I am a third-class citizen within the MLP?"
Mr Arpa should have known better then to shoot from the hip in the way he did because his statement is anything but true.
ONE News stated all the facts relating to the resignations mentioned including when Mr Zammit and the entire executive resigned. Mr Arpa should have watched the news on August 29 and the days that followed before going on record stating what he stated.
What Mr Arpa didn't mention or doesn't know, is that ONE News tries in every way to report all facts even when we're the only television station that is not being informed of meetings being held. Like for example, the meeting held by port workers on May 1 this year or of people walking out of buildings just after they tender their resignation.
It's a pity that Mr Arpa went on with his fallacious argument, and on the wrong premise about Super ONE and our reporting he went a step further labelling himself a third-class citizen.
Contrary to the impression Mr Arpa is trying to portray, ONE News is committed to reporting all facts, as happened in this case.
