The government has categorically denied that Air Malta employees are being pressured to take up early retirement schemes.

In reply to a General Workers' Union statement on Monday claiming that such pressure was being put, the Investments Ministry said it agreed with the union that such a decision should be made by the employees themselves.

The ministry added, however, that Air Malta was committed to giving employees all the necessary information so they could decide for themselves.
