The Malta Environment and Planning Authority has temporarily stopped demolition works at the former Les Lapin Hotel, in Ta' Xbiex, saying the developer was not sticking to the permit conditions. The works were stopped following a number of complaints and inspections by Mepa officials about the dust causing inconvenience in the neighbourhood.

Mepa said permit conditions laid down that dust levels were to be kept under control.
