Chief Justice in Vilnius congress

Chief Justice Vincent De Gaetano is in Vilnius where he is attending the preparatory meeting of the XIVth Congress of the Conference of European Constitutional Courts, to be held next year in the Lithuanian capital.

The Constitutional Court of Lithuania currently holds the Chair of the Conference.

During this preparatory meeting, delegates will consider, among other things, applications from a number of courts, including the Supreme Court of Israel, to become members of the Conference. They will also discuss future cooperation between the Conference and the European Commission for Democracy through Law (known as the Venice Commission).

During the absence of the Chief Justice from Malta, Mr Justice Joseph D. Camilleri will be Acting Chief Justice.
