A 23-year-old man was yesterday charged with defrauding several people of a total of over Lm1,000 between June and August.

Magistrate Anthony Vella heard the suspect plead guilty to fraud.

Police Inspector Kevin Borg told the magistrate that the man had cooperated with the police and was ready to refund the money defrauded.

The magistrate also heard that he was being given the opportunity to start working on a full-time basis this week and also heard that he had been described as a good employee when he carried out odd jobs in the past.

The magistrate granted him bail against a personal guarantee of Lm2,000.

Lawyer Anthony Cutajar was defence counsel.
