The Employment and Training Corporation has over 800 apprentices (up from 300 in 1995) placed with over 300 employers, Louis Galea, Minister of Education, Youth and Employment said.

The minister, together with the chairman of the ETC, Michael Balzan, was presenting the Journeyman's Certificate to over 200 persons who successfully completed their apprenticeship. The ETC is currently processing around another 400 applications from young persons wishing to take up an apprenticeship. The corporation's data shows that over 95 per cent of apprentices who successfully conclude their training go on to be employed full-time.
