Marsascala Breakers made up for the setback of missing out on the Division Two championship last week by clinching the KO after beating rivals Exiles.

Marsascala sealed the issue at the beginning of the final session. Quick goals by Liam Grixti and Sacho Popovski put the southerners four goals ahead (10-6) and virtually ended all Exiles' hopes of making it a double. The team from Sliema started well but eventually faded away as the game progressed.

Marsascala had Darren Ciappara in tremendous form, not only scoring four goals but contributing generously with his fast swimming and good positional play.

Popovski yesterday had his best performance of the season. He was effective with his clever passing and also managed to neutralise Exiles' chief marksman Marco Booij.
