Arsenal: Arsenal have agreed to pay $6.5 million for Brazilian midfielder Denilson, his club Sao Paulo said. They said it was likely that the player would be loaned to a smaller European club to gain experience.
Tevez: Carlos Tevez chose West Ham over bigger English clubs because he could get more regular football with them. "West Ham is a team where I can get a rhythm of playing," the World Cup striker said. He said he was not looking any further than West Ham despite speculation the move was simply a stepping stone to bigger things in Europe.
Bernard: French full-back Olivier Bernard has rejoined Newcastle. Free agent Bernard becomes Newcastle manager Glenn Roeder's fifth signing, joining Damien Duff, Obafemi Martins, Giuseppe Rossi and Antoine Sibierski.
