Following last year's sell-out gig at the Dolmen Resort Hotel, Qawra, Laugh Out Loud Productions is back at the same venue with their new cabaret style set-up on September 16 and 17, at 8.30 p.m., providing another fantastic night out of eating, drinking and laughing to your heart's content.
The 89.7 Bay Stand-up Comedy Show is presenting Al Pitcher from New Zealand - a star in the making who has a reputation of reducing an audience to tears of laughter - to get you warmed up for the evening.
Award-winning Lucy Porter follows. A successful and respected stand-up comedian, writer and actor, who has been performing for 11 years and is on her first extensive UK tour - which sold out its entire run at the 2005 Edinburgh Fringe, as did her previous two shows at the festival.
Lucy also recently returned from the prestigious HBO-sponsored Las Vegas Comedy Festival where she performed at Caesar's Palace - one of just three British acts to have been chosen.
Headlining the night (certified for over-18s) is Simon Evans with his arrogant and snobbish stage manner. The aloof Evans makes no concessions to likeability and uses brilliantly sarcastic lines to win over the audience. The way he sounds, and looks, does provide plenty of source material for Evans's superior, supercilious act, as does the obvious disdain in which he holds much of the rest of the world.
Tickets, at Lm9.50 each, can be ordered online at www.laughoutloud.com.mt.
